One hundred year ago,a handful of pioneer from Doumen County, Kwongdong province, China formed Hip Sen Association.They formed this Association to be self- help in friendship and brotherhood. The Association served as a center for employment, unemployment, refuge, and entertainment and a permanent address.

Our Association remained as a fraternal organization until the end of Second World War and gradually changed to a family oriented organization which caring and honors our elders, providing family oriented gatherings and activities and encouraging our young people to seek higher education with scholarship and to excel in professional and business careers.

Our Association spans centuries, went through to changes of Government in China, two world wars, one major earthquake in San Francisco and several smaller earthquake. Our Association has grown stronger and more stable through the dedication, and hard work of our members.

Our Association was established at the beginning industrial (mechanical) revolution and we are now at the beginning of electrical (computerized) revolution. We were not ready for the industrial revolution and we have suffered from it. We believe we are ready for the electronic revolution. Our members and their children have achieved higher education and technical knowledge. These high education and knowledge have helped us excel in agriculture, business and professional careers. We now have medical doctors, engineers of many disciplines, business mangers, chief executives lawyers, judges, social workers, and governmental leader and directors. Our people not only join the American main stream but we are leading the main stream to the bright future of the Twenty First Century.

This Centennial Anniversary celebrates our maturity and to show appreciation to our elders and past members whom have provided us a sound foundation to build on, a direct road to success and achievement and a honorable way to serve the community, society and country.

An Old Chinese ethic has given us a goal to work toward. It says “To put a heart in the world; to give its people a life; to carry on the knowledge, skills and achievements of the past wise and able men; and to open a road to peace and equality.” To achieve this goal, we want to be the bridge to link up the age and generation gap, to link up the racial and cultural gap and to close the economic gap and to open a road to the main stream and the future.
